Getting Started....
It's not easy coming up with the best comic book of your dreams. For many years have have been planning to create a comic book. Comic books are not easy when you are trying to do everything your self, still in school, going to work, and can find the right help. However, I have tried coming up a drawing concepts of my lovely Super Hero and her history as to why she became who she is. An accident does occur, but making things believable is a little hard.
I have been doing some research on a few other ideas of where she will be. New Orleans is THE place where she will grow up and protect. Her origins however are still being fixed. Part of it is connected to the Mardi Gras. Tying in with the saying Laissez les bond temps rouler "Let the good times roll", where people partied and celebrated Fat Tuesday wearing all kinds of crazy costumes.
This goes back to the Venice France of the La Bauta "the wearer: babau" or the bogeyman. The famous painting done by Pietro Longhi.
Being connected to the French culture and needing to look up artists around that time for her fashion. The 17th and 18th Century is a very stylish time. I was not looking at the females, but the males even though she was a woman. Males during those times did a lot more fighting back then and made much more sense.
There is one painting I love to use as a reference which was also made during the 18th century by a Venetian. It is of a woman holding a mask and a pomegranate called "Musee d'Angers" by Lorenzi Lippi.
Other Famous Artist I will use a a reference to help connect as to why she has these powers. The connection with all the artists is a simple brush that gets passed down. Transferring any power that the artist might have to the next artist who gets the brush.
